Discovering Black Rabbit: Edinburgh’s Original Alternative Vegan Deli and Coffee Shop

If you're looking for a unique and eco-conscious dining experience in Edinburgh, look no further than Black Rabbit, the city's original alternative vegan deli and coffee shop. Not only do they offer a delightful array of vegan treats, but they also prioritise sustainability by relying on 100% green electricity and using compostable takeaway packaging and paper instead of plastic. Plus, they reward eco-friendly customers with a discount when they bring their own cup or takeaway container.

I must confess, I’m not vegan, but as I walked past Black Rabbit, the display of cakes in the window caught my eye. Arranged like a beautiful afternoon tea, it was one of the first times I had seen a vegan cruffin (a hybrid of half croissant half muffin). I knew I had to try it.

The staff at Black Rabbit packaged my cruffin with care in a cute little box, perfect for taking home. When I finally sat down to enjoy it, I was really surprised. The cruffin was soft with a beautiful texture, and the cream on top was delicious. To be honest, if I hadn’t known it was vegan, I would never have guessed!

Black Rabbit is a bit out of the way unless you’re already in the area, but it’s definitely worth the visit. Whether you’re vegan or just want to try some nice cakes.,
